Great management and flexible schedule. Hard workplace, but can be enjoyable.
Pros: employee, discount, tips, good managers, flexible schedule
Cons: high stress level, long hours, little to no breaks, bad customers, tedious
A typical day consisted of taking, preparing, and expediting orders; checking order accuracy and quality; being timely and efficient; making ice cream and beverages; making and counting change; cleaning and stocking the store; reviewing specials and new products; ensuring customer satisfaction and/or handling complaints.
I learned how to work as a team with my coworkers, humility and responsibility, leadership, communication skills, multitasking, and that hard work pays off.
The management was great. Each manager and the boss were sensitive to my needs and were always concerned for my well being. They were encouraging and not afraid to correct or reprove my mistakes.
My coworkers were understanding of how I worked and worked well with others. They were helpful and good employees.
The hardest part about the job is how physically and mentally demanding it is. It is a lot more than just carrying trays of food or taking orders. It is about the customers and quality of service. The stress and long, busy hours can take it out of you, and negative customers can wear you out.
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the smile on customers' faces, the tips, and the overall satisfaction that you're serving people. Making tips and working with friends are also quite enjoyable.
