Audit Analyst (Current Employee), Lyndhurst, NJJuly 29, 2014
Overall atmosphere is good but the company as a whole seems unorganized and pay is much lower than one would expect.

An excellent company to work
Replication Specialist (Former Employee), Pitman, NJMay 27, 2014
Pros: excellent benefits, four days off, yearly bar-b-cue, and getting together after work on our forth day and 30 min. breaks every 3 hrs.
Cons: 12 hour shifts and not having all weekends off
Sony Music had a very friendly atmosphere but also held its employees to the highest standard in product production. Excellent benefits and always made employees feel as important as the customers. It was hard to tell the mangement personnell from the general worker everyone worked as one to provide the best to our customers. The hardest part was the – more... 12 hour shifts four days a week and the best part were the four (4) days off and the yearly bar-b-cues. – less

IS&T Service Desk Analyst (Current Employee), New York, NYMay 14, 2014
Pros: ability to work from home
Cons: no room for growth
A typical day at work intials checking our ticketing system Salesforce for inquiries and requests that have come in. I handled email inquiries as well as new hire and offboarding(someone who has left the company) requests. I handled various application requests as well. They range from SAP, Hyperion, Citrix, CDS, Hummingbird etc. I learned to be more – more... analytical and patient. As well as adpating to change quickly. There was never a dull moment at work. I enjoyed working with my cowokers because we worked as a team when there was any issues going on and had a good time doing it. My management was just as help. They were always there to answer questions as will as gudie me in troubleshooting and problem solving issues on my own with the skills I have. The hardest part of my job was the fact that there was no room for growth. The tasks pilled up and were learned, however, I was still at the same positon I started in. On the flipside, the most enjoyable part of work was knowing that once the day started, there was always something new to learn and work through. I enjoy my coworkers and team mindset that was displayed daily. – less

Sony was the premier company in Carrollton. Everyone wanted to work there.
Electronics/Sortation Mechanic (Former Employee), Carrollton, GAAugust 19, 2013
Pros: family social event's
Cons: 12 hour night shift's
Typically the tech's would work on a 12 hour shift and make any breakdown repairs on all packaging and distribution systems. In-between breakdowns we would perform preventative maintenance on all associated equipment to maintain international certifications. We worked closely with management for problems concerning customers, production and safety.

Retail Order Puller (Former Employee), Carrollton, GAAugust 12, 2013
Sorry that the warehouse was closed. Good working conditions, working with staff and fellow employees was enjoyable. Varied duties, stayed busy and was used in several departments, depending on need of the supervisor at any given time. There were times when we had a lot of overtime and times when we took temporary, voluntary "lay off".

Great work atmosphere. Only issues was lack of job security
Retail Order Processor (Former Employee), Carrollton, GAJuly 10, 2013
Pros: laid back workplace. good benefits. great communication between co-workers and management
Cons: no job security, constant lay offs
Good work environment, great co-workers and management. Good training and knowledge of the job at hand. Biggest issues was the lack of job security, and possibility of advancement. All advancement in the company was based of seniority, and not ability to and strengths of the individuals.

Postal Clerk/Warehouser (Former Employee), Carrollton, GAJuly 7, 2013
Pros: great working conditions and a great supervisor
Cons: only one break a day
Sony Carrollton was a great place to work. Myself and my coworkers worked together for many years and were like family. The Carrollton Plant closed down this year and was a really sad time for us employees that had worked together for so long. I really miss my job, I have been unemployed since March 28th of this year and I am very much so ready to go – more... back to work, with nothing panning out so far. – less

Director of Operations (Former Employee), Carrollton, GAMay 4, 2013
Pros: excellent opportunities for growth.
Cons: extremely competitive industry
Sony Music was an excellent place of work. Promotion opportunities were available to hourly as well as management. There were open communication lines at all levels of the company. We were able to show large gains in profit year after year until the music industry began its downfall. I thoroughly enjoyed working for this company and could have easily – more... worked there until retirement. – less

Shipper (Former Employee), Carrollton, GAApril 18, 2013
Pros: free cds every month, my pay check and just getting out working
Cons: one break even when i work overtime
A typical started off with morning meeting. The day go fast if there is a lot of work for example there have been times I would be so into my work and miss half of my lunch break. There was a time when I really enjoyed management until I was told that we are not family this is a business. My co-workers I fill like is a part of my family because I spend – more... a lot of time with them. The hardest part of my job is trying to look busy when there is no work. I learn a lot about shipping, picking and packing. The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting people. – less
