The nearly 320-bed regional facility provides acute, outpatient, home health, and hospice care for residents of southeastern Massachusetts. Strategy
South Shore Hospital operates an emergency medicine residency program in cooperation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. It also has an affiliation with Quincy Medical Center through which the pair shares resources, including physician specialists, to fill service gaps.
The hospital employs more than 1,500 nurses, representing most nursing specialties, from emergency and critical care to community health. South Shore Hospital makes it a policy to not replace licensed nurses with lesser skilled patient care aides or technicians, giving it a larger than average nursing staff. – less
