Although the majority of the staff at SHMC are loving caring people, some of the longest held employees still treat many of the support staff (ie; housekeepers, dietary, transport, CNA's) like subclass citizens. Many of them, like the ER charge nurses, think they have the right to direct other department staff. Sometimes this leads to confrontations between various department supervisors. Rather than allowing each department manager to manage their own staff, they feel they have the right to over-ride any decision made that they do not agree with. This action is often times followed by mass emails to upper management and HCA corporate offices slandering the department manager that did not agree with them.
Basically, if they don't like you, they make all efforts to replace you. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with your work performance and dedication to patient care.
Highly Political Atmosphere and too many "chiefs".
