CA Forensic Medical Group, the leader in correctional health care has an immediate opening for a LVN (Per Diem):
Administering and charting medications at prescribed times.
Communicating with MD/PA/FNP or RN any potentially significant medical complaints or observations discovered during routine duties.
Transcribing orders from Physician, NP or PA
Obtaining blood specimens, urine specimens, and other specimens as ordered by the medical providers.
Assisting with sick call.
Assisting with physicals by collecting appropriate data, i.e., history, vital signs.
Performing treatments as ordered.
Limiting access to medical records to MD and other licensed medical personnel.
Keeping charts in order and recording all treatments and medications given.
Communicating to RN any problem areas.
Reordering supplies and medications under direction of the RN.
Performing end of shift narcotic count.
Maintaining a clean work area and environment by performing concurrent cleaning.
Administering immunizations as ordered.
Administering and reading TB skin tests.
Performing intakes to include health history, TB screening, medically clearing
Detainees for booking into the facility or requesting further clearance from the hospital.
Completion of an accredited School of Vocational Nursing
Current, valid State of CA Practical Nursing License
Current CPR certification
Experience in medical/surgical nursing or previous correctional health care experience preferred
Good communication skills
Must obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout the course of employment
