Centralized Scheduler (Former Employee), Spartanburg, SC – May 14, 2013
A typical day at work was answering phone calls and assisting medical offices and patients. I learned social skills and excellent customer service. Management was good and my co-workers were very helpful. The hardest part of this job was not being able to assist everyone all the time. The most enjoyable part was being able to help who I could.
Busy day, keying in charges, check-out, scheduling follow up appoiments. I took co-payments, took care of bank deposits. Scheduled transportation, and assisted with charts (filing).
Unit Secretary and Administrative (Current Employee), Spartanburg, SC – December 10, 2012
Pros: the benefits
Cons: the hours that i work
My typical day at work is placing phone calls to doctors when need be, putting patient charts together when they get admitted to the hospital, answering the phone and directing calls, setting up appointments for patients to the doctor office when discharged from hospital, using a fax machine and printer/copy machine, using microsoft explorer and the – more... computer system required for the hospital and many other systems. My coworkers are wonderful and the workplace is very understanding. The hardest part of the job is when we get so many discharges a day and that many admissions back normally at the same time. The most enjoyable part of the job is working at pretty much my own pace... – less
Desktop Support Technician (Current Employee), Spartanburg, SC – November 4, 2012
Pros: on site cafeteria with good food and inexpensive prices.
Cons: little positive feedback.
Working with a good team of techs they are poorly managed. Little communcation from managment to staff. As a contractor you are made to feel like a second class citizen.
I liked working there MUCH better 25 years ago when everyone could laugh and cut up, the hallways were always buzzing with activity and people.
Radiology/Medical Records Dept. Transcriptionist (Former Employee), 101 E Wood Street, Spartanburg SC – October 22, 2012
Great salary and benefits. The hospital was very different back in the early and mid 1980s. Much more laid-back and alot of fun. Much smaller then, everyone like a big family. Not near as strict and stuffy as it is now. At Halloween back then we all dressed up and had the best time out in the hallways...now dressing up is not allowed, and the hallways – more... are empty. All doors are kept closed. It is completely opposite of what it was then. Oh well, times change, rules change, not always for the better if you ask me. – less
Enjoyed working here alot of advancement opportunities to grow
CNA/Phlebotomist/Assistant Supervisor (Former Employee), Spartanburg, SC – August 20, 2012
Pros: flexible hours
Cons: limited opportunities
I was an phlebotomist here and it was very rewarding being able to have the patients blood work done and completed so that the doctors were able to treat in a proper time. I learned from alot of my co-workers about time management and how to safely do the job. My co-workers were team players and made the job very enjoyable. The hardest part of the job – more... was not being appreciated for a job well done considering all of the hard work put in on a daily basis. The most enjoyable was assisting in making sure the patients results were on time. – less
