Working in Kingwood was great and had a lot of fun with other team members, I learned a lot working for Speedy Stop. Management was great to me in Kingwood. Co workers were great to work with. The hardest part of the job was transferring to the new store in Houston, I was promised 40 hrs. a week and Sunday and Mondays off, this quickly changed except for Mondays, I had to have them off. As time went on we were able to hire a couple people to ease the work load, but the lead of the deli decided to add more work to me and less to herself and the others, by the time I was fired, I was refilling everything with no help, and when I would ask for help, I was told it wasn't their job but mine to do, so they would sit on the counter and talk to other workers until it was time to punch out. Then she would make daily chores to be done before I left but I had to punch out on time, then I would go and finish what still needed to be done, so I worked off the clock most days, if the items weren't done I face being fired, which happened on June 25th. She said I didn't clean the vent hoods and do the portions that were on the list, I told her I did do them all and more but she said she watched the film and that I had only done vent hood, she lied to my face and the manager so I was terminated. I told her I had taken pictures and all drawers were filled.
The most enjoyable part of my job was seeing everything cleaned as I walked out the door, and making pastries and pizzas, Talking to customers was also a joy everyday. Knowing I put 110% in every day was a feeling of accomplishment. I took pride in making it look great everyda.
