Ultrasound Technician (Current Employee), Danbury, CTNovember 8, 2014
Pros: vehicle, meals, housing all provided by the company
Cons: certainly this lifestyle can put a stain on personal relationships.
This job provide an opportunity to travel extensively and offers exposure to areas of self reliance, other types of people and also the various physical and family challenges that come from being away from home for extended periods.

Sperry Rail Driver's
Truck Driver (Current Employee), USADecember 27, 2013
Pros: travel
Cons: pay, health care, communication
A typical as a Sperry Rail Service driver consists of maintaining the truck you work on, writing up defects while on the train tracks. I learned how to work on engines and how to operate a hydraulic motor and high rail gear. Management is a phone call away when you are working out in the field or in your hotel room. Your coworker is the closest thing to a boss. the hardest thing about this job is being away from home for extended periods of time. The free travel is the best thing about this company.

chief inspector (Current Employee), all over the USAugust 6, 2012
Pros: great pay and benefits
Cons: away from family too long
working with diverse groups of major railroad companies including the canadian company. the hardest part of the job is being away from the family for three or more months at a time, especially during the holiday seasons. love working for a company that gives good benefits to all employees, meal budgets, lodgeing, and weekly communications with all spuervisors, chiefs, and railroad personnel. have learned alot on metals, ultrasonic programs, testing with special equipment.

I loved this job, Getting to see all the country
Driver/Mechanic (Former Employee), Danbury, CTMay 16, 2012
Pros: great benefits, good health coverage
Cons: not much of a job for married men, many weeks away from home at a time
This company was great to work for. Getting to ride on the rail roads and seeing the country. My co workers were good people and management was easy to get along with.
