Pros: variety of experience, flexible hours, direct deposit pay, and easy training.
Cons: poor correspondence, no medical benefits unless you sign up immediately upon hire because they wont tell you, and inconsistent job placements with gaps in pay periods.
Working with a Staffing agency is interesting as you can gain a variety of experience at different job assignments, however the company lacks correspondence with me in many ways. I was never told about how/when to sign up for Benefits and/or Open Enrollment for Medical Benefits and was told I could still apply but never received approval or denial of benefits and had to call the insurance directly only to find out I missed the Open Enrollment window with no future Open Enrollment dates available. I first started at Daytona Beach City Island Courthouse in the Family Law Clerk of Court where I was a file clerk for only one Month. The turn around for my next assignment was only 2 days, then I was placed at Halifax Health Care in Daytona Beach as a Billing Clerk and Legal Specialists. I was assigned at Halifax for nearly a year, then it ended in early October. I was given yet another assignment for Florida Health Care Plans in Holly Hill, FL as an Enrollment Specialist but I was only there for 2 weeks and now I am no longer assigned anywhere...and no prospects are coming in from Spherion at all. Although getting a variety of experience working as a Temp at different jobs is exciting and beneficial, I do prefer to be in one stable place of employment and unfortunately Spherion is not very good at corresponding with me like they were the first few months of employment. I typically work 1st shifts, and prefer to because of my family and working with Spherion has been beneficial as far as flexibility with my personal life.
