Pros: lots of work, both in extent and variety.
Cons: below market pay, i was given no warning that layoffs were coming or that i might be a target for them, i was immediately escorted off the site with only a few possessions like i had been fired
The days were busy, there is a lot of work, but the environment is usually pretty good. A lot depends on your manager, it is a large company (10000+ workers) so there are a lot of managers. Some are fantastic, some are not so great. And you move around, so you will get some of each if you stay long enough. The coworkers are pretty much the same. Most – more... are pretty good, but sometimes you hit upon a bad one. The hardest part of the job for me was going to meetings. There always seemed to be meetings, some of which were not worth the time to attend, but I still had to in some cases. For me the most fun was using CATIA and IVT to investigate and solve engineering problems. I also enjoyed the hands on experience of getting into the airplane and looking at specific locations for problem solving or improvements. – less
