Spot Trading, a Chicago proprietary trading firm, continues campus recruiting over the next two weeks, traveling to the University of Illinois, Princeton, and the University of Michigan. University career fairs provide us with an ideal opportunity to meet students and talk about the great opportunities available for students interested in pursuing software development, information technology, and trading jobs.
We are excited to be attending the University of Illinois’ Engineering Employment Expo.  The event is hosted by the Engineering Council, and takes place on Tuesday the 18th from 10am - 4pm in the Activities and Recreation Center on the Champaign/Urbana campus. Spot’s relationship with U of I is very strong - we have been recruiting on campus for 6 years, and are lucky to have many alumni working at Spot. In addition to our hiring success, we have sponsored a senior design project for computer science students for the past four years, and are expanding that relationship this year by sponsoring a project for general engineering students interested in information technology. Students working on these projects use their skills and knowledge to solve real business problems presented by their Spot mentoring team.
On Friday, September 21, individuals from our Trading and Technology teams will be participating in Princeton University’s General Interest Career Fair at Dillon Gym from 10:30am - 2:30pm. Our team is looking forward to talking to the talented students at Princeton about the opportunities we have available. We are proud of the Princeton alumni currently working at Spot, including Rob Merrilees, our founder and CEO. Spot has partnered with the University for several years in our recruiting efforts, and we are excited to continue our relationship with the students and faculty at Princeton.
At the University of Michigan on Tuesday, September 25th, representatives from Spot will be at the Engineering Fall Career Fair from 10am - 4pm. This event is hosted by the Society of Women Engineers and Tau Beta Pi. For the past several years, Spot Trading has successfully hired students from career fairs at the University. The majority of our software development interns this summer came from the University of Michigan, and they joined multiple U of M alumni working in full-time software development and information technology jobs. – less–ZoomInfo
