Pros: hourly pay plus commission, benefits, 401k, paid time off, cell phone, raises, promotions, sales experience
Cons: stress and pressure for under-performers, hectic and busy work environments, customer escalations
Sprint Corp is an amazing place to work. This retail position sets itself apart from other traditional retail environments, where you get to learn the best practices of sales and the latest gadgets/ technologies from the wireless industry. It is definitely a 'hit-the-ground' running type of job where you need to be able to pick up quick on all the different – more... programs and policies, but it is very rewarding in regards to gaining experience. It is fast-paced and demanding environment that requires you to focus on multiple core metrics (categories) of your performance, but if you are successful it is fun and educational. It can be hectic from time-to-time, and occasionally stressful, but what job isn't? Its a sale job and if you cannot sell then it is not the job for you. I welcome anyone looking for valuable sales experience to work for Sprint, you will not be disappointed.
Sprint offers amazing benefits, with paid time off as well as main holidays. You receive a base hourly pay along with rewarding compensation. They do a great job at matching your 401K and even offer employee stock purchase plans. You get to get your hands on all the newest technologies/handsets, and if you are lucky enough to be selected to train in the advocate programs you can get your hands on the newest devices. What other type of retail job offers those perks? not many.
Aside from all the good stuff, I reiterate that if you do not want to be in sales, if you unfortunately are not good in sales, or are lazy and don't want to put in the effort, you will have a hard time enjoying working for Sprint. Poor sales performance will come with additional pressure and stress But like any job, if you cant perform what is required then it is not the job for you.
If you are looking to move up the corporate chain and seek upper-management, it takes time and obvious outstanding sales performance. You will have to prove yourself, but in the end if you put in the time and effort Sprint will reward you will raises, phones, promotions, and overall a great and valuable experience. – less
