Cons: no job security or advancement, management shows favoritism, schedules are ridiculous, a lot of micro-management
My training experience was great! However, once I was out on the floor and placed on a team, I started to see the true colors of the company and my supervisor. I knew that I wanted to make a career at SSM and didn't want to spend my entire time at the company on the phone. Although I had exceeded all the call center metrics and had the knowledge needed
– more... to move up, my supervisor would not allow me to move on because I made the team stats look good. She gave me horrible evaluations and when I asked her why she told me that the team couldn't afford to lose me. Those evaluations stopped me from getting promotions and raises that I deserved. I tried to go over my supervisor's head to her boss, then their boss but they were all best friends for over 10 years or more, so she supported any decision my supervisor made. I ended up having to resign before the stress become too much or needed to take a stress leave.
Moral of the story, unless you're related to someone at this company by blood or marriage, or are an excellent "brown noser",don't expect to last longer than two years at this company. – less
