About ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc
Singapore Technologies Aerospace created MAE as a foothold in the United States to serve the North and South American markets. This strategy was needed to diversify into commercial aircraft maintenance and to meet growing world-wide demands for third-party aircraft maintenance and modification services.
MAE is a Federal Aviation Administration – more... (FAA) approved aircraft Repair Station with a Class 4 airframe rating. We specialize in heavy maintenance and modification of both narrow and wide-body aircraft including Airbus A300 and A310; Boeing 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, DC9, DC10, MD11, and MD80; along with Lockheed L1011. Our services include heavy maintenance inspection and checks, life extension work on aging aircraft, corrosion prevention and control programs, major structural work and modification, passenger-to-freighter conversion, avionics modifications, painting and finishing, complete interior refurbishment and/or reconfiguration and fleet standardization.
The MAE facility is strategically located in Mobile, Alabama on the Gulf of Mexico. Mobile was selected among several other sites due to the available two B747-size hangars and ample land for future growth. The site selected is within the Brookley Industrial and Airport Complex. The airport has a 9,600 foot runway with an Instrument Landing System (ILS). MAE's current facility consists of six B747 bays and a two-bay hanger for modification work encompassing over 471,000 sq. ft. of hanger space and 34,000 sq.ft. dedicated to an aircraft wash and strip rack. The maintenance hangars can easily accommodate six wide-body aircraft (B747) and eight narrow-body aircraft simultaneously.
Singapore Technologies Aerospace is composed of a groups of companies that together offer a unique and wide-range of products and services. This includes heavy aircraft maintenance, structural modification and refurbishment, aircraft engine and aero-component overhaul and repair, and avionics systems design and integration. MAE brings along with it the reputation and commitment of Singapore Technologies Aerospace to provide its customers with quality, reliability and service excellence.
MAE maintains a work force of approximately 1,200 technical, engineering and administrative personnel, comprised mostly of licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) aircraft mechanics. Since our inception in 1990, MAE has been established as a leading third-party aircraft maintenance and overhaul facility in the United States. Among our customers are airlines, chartered operators, freight carries, and leasing companies from around the world.
The business of MAE is selling labor. The company's success depends largely on the work force producing quality and on-time maintenance services efficiently.
