About St. Charles Hospital
St. Charles Hospital is a 289-bed community hospital located in Port Jefferson on Long Island. The hospital is renowned for its Centers of Excellence including Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics and Obstetrics. It also offers the only Emergency Department in the area featuring a team of physicians who have all completed their residency training in emergency – more... medicine.
Our current certified operating capacity consists of 98 medical/surgical beds, 16 ICU/CCU beds, 8 pediatric beds, 22 maternity beds, 6 neonatal continuing/intermediate care bassinets, 111 physical medicine and rehabilitation beds, and 28 alcohol rehabilitation beds.
St. Charles Rehabilitation provides specialized programs in the areas of cardio-pulmonary, spinal cord injury, stroke and neurology/neurosurgery rehabilitation and orthopaedics. The hospital also operates Long Island's only dedicated pediatric traumatic brain injury unit and offers a golf and fitness program that includes a state of the art golf simulator.
