Great Place to Work..
Communications Specialist (Current Employee), Wilmington, DEOctober 6, 2014
While working for St. Francis, I have met some great people. We work together as a team and have become a powerful unit together. Coming to work is an adventure, everyday we deal with different situations and it keeps the day going by. The hardest part of the day is when everything is going crazy, we have alarms, phones and people coming in and out – more... of the office and we have to stay focused and calm. – less

Chaplain Resident (Former Employee), Columbus, GASeptember 23, 2014
Be willing to do hard work, both outside in the hospital and inside yourself, before considering CPE. But if it is what God wants for your life, it will be life changing.

RN Staff Nurse (Current Employee), Indianapolis, INSeptember 5, 2014
Pros: great teamwork
Cons: night shift is not always able to contact management for guidance.
Working nights, we do not have the immediate availability of MD's as dayshift does. I like the team work we have on our unit, as all co-workers are always willing to help their fellow staff members with any task at any time.

Facility is small enough to get to know everyone
Clerical Worker (Current Employee), Roslyn, NYAugust 17, 2014
Come into work and begin by filing away anywheres from 40 to 300 patients charts leftover from previous day. Print list of all the doctors who have patients that day, and self prepare it to make my day go smoother. Pull all the required charts that the different doctors need for the next day all the while i am filing away the present days charts.

Over – more... the years here I have developed different shortcuts to make my work easier and faster for me.

My co-workers all hate my job with a passion and wonder how i do it everyday. They just dislike doing my job when I am out sick or on vacation.Thats why they all say that I have job security with the job.

The hardest part of the job is mainly when I have pulled everything and it is time for me to leave, and the next days schedule has changed.

The most enjoyable part of my job is that I time myself. I am always looking to better myself, so I do it for fun. – less

Productive and family oriented workplace
Staffing and Bed Control Specialist (Current Employee), Columbus, Ga.August 17, 2014
Pros: felxibility, healthcare, teamwork incintives
Cons: short breaks, raises
Typical work day for me is very busy and fast paste, high phone volume to make sure all units are adequately staffed to maintain care for number of patients per unit. In my years with this company I have learned time management, critical thinking, numerous coping skills and conflict resolution. Work hand and hand with management, learn to compromise – more... daily. My co-workers are the greatest people in the industry, always willing to go above and beyond. The most enjoyable part of my job is that I get to help people, co-workers and patients. I manage 2 transporters that travel city to city when we discharge patients, this is a service that has helped many patients go from treatment to treatment that otherwise would not be able to afford to do so. – less

Unit Clerk/Purchasing Clerk (Former Employee), Wilmington, DEAugust 14, 2014
Pros: employee appreciation day, and you could take your birthday off with pay
Cons: salary not comparable to other hospitals
Typical day begins by getting report from the clerk, as far as phone calls to make, admissions, discharges, check the escort sheet for patients leaving and returning to the floors. transcribing verbal and written orders. The management was very professional. I loved my co-workers, it was like working with family. I didn't like having to search for equipment; – more... e. i.v. pumps; wheelchairs; poles; stretchers.i enjoyed the closeness of working with loving, caring people – less

Productive and also different then what I'm used to.
Environmental Services (Former Employee), Greenwood, INAugust 8, 2014
Pros: close to home, good insurance.
Cons: not much of advancement without college.
Typical day gathering supplies, going to my area.
I cleaned every room as though one of my family members where going to be a patient.
Management, when I would get too busy, the group leader came to help. I get along with anyone. We both are getting paid to do our jobs and that's team players to me. Willing to help each other when needed. As myself – more... when I didn't have many rooms to clean I would call the office to see if anyone needed help.
The most enjoyable thing was I worked on the Labor and Delivery floor so I got to see the babies. – less
