Already in the midst of a record pace for ticket sales, the St. Louis Cardinals today announced their 2000 promotions dates - many of which sold out last season - with plans to open the Busch Stadium ticket office on Sunday to accommodate the anticipated demand for tickets to these games
Thirty-five giveaway dates are included on the calendar, with many more games featuring special activities and discount offers.
Among the new giveaways this season are Rawlings Mark McGwire bat day, BJC Health System Pokemon card book night, Whittaker Homes autographed ball day and four McDonald's/Shell Oil collector's coin days.
The Busch Stadium ticket office and charge line (314-421-2400) will have special Sunday hours this weekend, opening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The club's group sales and season-ticket offices also will be open at the stadium and by phone (314-421-3060)
Through 5 p.m. Thursday, the Cardinals had sold 2,337,304 tickets for the upcoming season
The team's preseason sales record was set last year, when 2,538,503 tickets were sold before Opening Day.
