Great company
Administrative Assistant and Financial Analyst (Current Employee), Hartford, CT –
Travelers has provided me with a great background in recruiting and analytics. Management has been very supportive of my career change to gain exposure to additonal areas, however, there are limited opportunities to work in HR in areas outside of recruiting.

Mentally challenging (which can be a good thing), but overall a nice place to be and a great company to work for!
Insurance Service Representative (ISR) (Former Employee), Houston, TX –
Traveler's is more than just a company. It is a "family". They were there when I needed them most. I will be forever and eternally grateful to them.

Great place to work and close to home
Customer Service/ Processor (Former Employee), Fall River, MA –
Cons: downsized
I worked for this company for well over 17 years. I had several poisitions over the years starting in the mail room up to Underwriting. The hardest part of job was losing the job when they downsized and outsourced our jobs.

St. Paul Travelers
Claims Examiner (Former Employee), Alpharetta, GA –
Pros: money
Cons: workload
Travelers started out being a great company to work for. I was initially hired as a inside adjuster but advanced quickly to being an outside adjuster. When they have to see you everyday they can really treat as bad as they'd like to. Once you're an outside adjuster they'll stick it to you for as long as you can deal with it. When you're off and scheduled – more...  not to receive claims more time than not you will receive claims especially during peak seasons. Success is numbers driven with this company. Only a "choosen" few people are able to succeed at obtaining the numbers required to excel with this company working from home. If management doesn't like you they will overload you and force you out. This is why this company is always hiring! – less

Offered additional two weeks off.
Claims Examiner (Former Employee), Orange, CA –
Pros: flexible hours.
Cons: hours could be long.
I handled workers compensation claims. The supervisors were supportive and benefits started day one. One of the most lucrative benefits, additional 2 weeks off per year. HR deducted a small percentage of biweekly pay to pay for 10 days off. Employees had the option of taking the time off or requesting a payout if they chose not to take time off. The – more...  only drawback, the employee had to remember there is a cutoff date to take the vacation time or request payment. If you didn't take the time off or forgot to request payout during the payout period, you lost the 10 days and the money from the payout. Good company. Offered lots of training. – less

Pros: the training perfect!
Cons: the office not good for people of color, i'd prefer a wah.
Training was great, it cover exactly what you needed to know to work this job, I felt prepare when I return to my job as a workers comp case manager. I did so well in fact , my manager utilized me to assist other nurses that had been with Travelers for a while, I enjoyed the work, and I thank Travelers for the experience.

Excellent Company
Auto Appraiser (Former Employee), California –
Pros: pay, benefits, company paid pension, manageable workload
Worked there for a year and half. Loved working for this company. The only reason I am not there anymore is because we had to relocate to another state and there was no opportunity for me to transfer.

Insurance service rep (Former Employee), Colorado Sprinngs, CO –
Pros: vacation time is substantial, but have to beg and plead for time off.
Cons: rude management, unhealthy work conditions, low pay, unrealistic work load, high employee turnover.
Had the unfortunate circumstance to be employed by this company. Where do I begin. Totally agree with the other reviews. Management does not care about employees or mentor them in any way. Employee turnover is very high at this company because of heavy workload. Management only hires their friends and promotes only their friends as well. Management – more...  and leads are not approachable at all. If you do go them with any issues, will be sorry later. People are promoted on the basis of friendship with the manager not on the job you do. Raises are given only friends of the manager. Management is just downright mean and insulting much of the time. Lastly, there is no room for advancement at this company. They lock you in the job you started in, unless you are a "buddy" of management. – less

Great place to work - both people and environment. Very employee orientated.
Underwriter (Former Employee), Seattle, WA –
Pros: internal training and support were outstanding, great location.
Cons: no free parking available.
Always was a pleasant upbeat environment. The pace could be very fast, however, I never felt overwhelmed. Everyone supported each other and management was available if any problems came up.
