Most of their development is offshore. Onshore "developers" are really just project managers and code quality inspectors.

Training Executive (Current Employee), Dallas, TXJanuary 30, 2014
Pros: benefits, office from home
Cons: communication
Travelers has been my place of employment most of my adult life. I have held several positions over the years but my current position has been my favorite. My latest position has allowed me to help accounts develop and improve to become more successful. My co-workers are team players and we all jump in to help the other in need. Ironically the travel – more... is the most enjoyable and hardest part of my job. I love seeing new places and working with people with different cultures. Being away from my family for extended periods and airline/airport challenges was difficult. The most positive aspect was the ability to be home-based. – less

Highly Structured!
Commercial Lines Rater (Former Employee), Greenwood, COJanuary 2, 2014
Cons: too restrictive, too structured
While I enjoyed the work, I found it difficult to work here. My co-workers were great but office procedures were too tightly wound. At times they prevented us from completing our work in a timely manner. Rumors also flowed in from one department or another, stating that the department I was working in was going to close or be moved from our location – more... to another. It was precarious at best. – less

AUTO APPRAISER/FIELD TRAINING MANAGER (Current Employee), Denver, Co.November 5, 2013
Cons: doing more with less people.
Company is down sizing and is having their employees do more with less man power which is causing the moral to be at an all time low.
Layoffs are a constant throughout the company.
