POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision plans, organizes, executes, and control work activities of Environmental Services personnel to maintain the highest possible aseptic standards and good public relations, by creating a clean, attractive, and safe environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Customer Service Standards
Earns the respect and trust of the administrative officers, directors, supervisors, and their employees

Promotes good public relations with patients, staff and visitors

Customer satisfaction surveys and patient interviews reflect positive customer service

Continually develops better way to service our customers

Attends meetings as required, and participates on committees as requested

Demonstrates the mission and values of the facility

People Development Standards
Employee training plan is in place and utilized

Monthly department meetings are conducted with safety topics discussed and minutes completed

Demonstrates the ability to develop management positions from within the staff

Enhances personal professional growth and development through educational programs and literature

Corrective counseling’s and terminations are documented properly

Financial Management Standards
Total paid hours are at or below budget

Supply budget is at or below budget

Department budget for the facility is at or below budget

Management Standards
Department files are accurately maintained and organized

Department information boards have current literature posted including regulatory agency information

Workers Compensation information is documented properly

Cleaning records are maintained in an effective manner

Manager has a working knowledge of policy and procedures

Area assignment sheets are accurately maintained and printed

A preventative maintenance program for equipment is in place and documented

Maintains the highest possible quality standards to ensure a clean and safe environment

Demonstrated dependability and punctuality

Prepares each fiscal year’s Operating Budget, Capital Expense Budget, and Salary Budget.

Other Duties
Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
College degree, preferred

Experience
Two years supervisory and/or assistant manager experience preferred, one year required

Four years environmental service experience in an acute care environment preferred

Skills
Ability to communicate and understand oral and written instructions in English

Skills with the use of personal protective equipment, housekeeping supplies and equipment

Familiar with OSHA and JACHO standards

Familiar with technical process procedures and financial management tools

Problem solving, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills

Effective time management

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will;
Frequently stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects and tools or controls

Reach with hands and arms

Climb, stoop, kneel or crouch

Talk or hear, taste or smell

The employee will regularly life and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently life and/or move up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities require include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Physical Hazards
The employee will regularly be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials and waste

Employee will frequently work near moving mechanical part and be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration

The employee will occasionally work in outside weather conditions

Noise level is the work environment is moderate
