A good place to work.
Environmental Services Assistant (Former Employee), Birmingham, AL –
St. Vincent was a good place to work. I enjoyed working other people. Team work is what counts. I learned that helping others was great. There was not a hard part of the job for me because I liked loved my job. The most enjoyable part was when I put a smile on the patient and their familys faces. Every time I entered their rooms. Some of the co-workers – more...  were O.K. some weren't. You can't please everybody, but I was always willing to try. – less

My days began at 6:00am. My first responsibilitis was check pending blood work. Once I help my co workers catch up I would get briefed on the prior shift. As soon as that was done i begab working I drew and greet about 100 people a day

Coordinator VIII/Home Care Department (Former Employee), New York, NY –
Pros: it was located close to home
Cons: it closed down.
St Vincent's was a place that allowed for growth within the hospital. That is how I was able to transfer within the hospital to other departments.

The Daughters of Charity Health Systems promotes good ethical practices.
Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator (Current Employee), Los Angeles, CA –
Pros: free parking. good benefit packages
Cons: advancement in current field is very difficult, training techniques need improvement.
My job requires keen eye, excellent organizational skills, time management skills and the ability to multitask. Follow up is paramount for a medical staff of over 400 members. It is important to be well learned in Medical Staff Bylaws and California State laws regarding licensing, insurance and all credentialing matters.

The management must be very – more...  communicative and willing to direct and deligate work load appropriately.

My co-workers are amoungst the best people I have had the privilege to work with. It is a team environment.

The hardest part of my job is recognizing when to stop working. I enjoy processing documents and tend to want to complete the entire workload in one day which is extremely unrealistic as the paperwork is endless.

It is extremely satisfying knowing the work I do is meaningful to the hospital and the clinicians on staff. I enjoy a productive work schedule that causes a week to feel like a day. – less

Pros: workshops and traing for employees, beautiful campus
Cons: somewhat stiff hospital atmosphwre
I liked working here very much. The standards were high but the training was personal and very thorough. There was very little office politica which made it a good atmosphere for working. The work setting was intense, focussed and conducive to high quality rehab cousneling.
