It takes six weeks to get hired from start to finish during your training. First is notification from the hiring manager and an offer is extended. Followed by immediate training and written tests. All officers are trained in civilian attire but not business attire. No suits are allowed or ties. Once the tests are passed you are issued a uniform and allowed to work your regular schedule.
