Non-Management co-workers are great.
Operations, Vancouver, WA - November 20, 2014
Core Health & Fitness is the parent company for Stairmaster and Star Trac. (i.e. read all the company reviews)
The products are great. Non-Management team members are great across all departments (of course there are rotten apples). If you can handle the Loooooonnnnggggg hours, you can learn (from other employees because the company will NEVER invest in your growth).
HR team is topnotch. The IT department has good management.
The company is so cheap continuously refuses to invest in the employees; no eduction assistance, has pot lucks because they don't want to pay for food for quarterly meetings, office supplies are continuously running out or only the very cheapest items are purchases (People bring in own supplies), and coffee is terrible.
The is no team work between departments.
Not a lot of internal promotions.
Make raise promises then never delivers.
There is a constant overly stressed people everywhere.
TOO MANY MEETINGS AND EMAILS!!
Customer Service is ran by management with over emotions and to have "Department Wars".
Throwing people "under the bus" is constant.
Benefits are sub-par at best (only recently have a >1% 401K Match).
Operations' employees are managed with fear (though this does seems to be getting SLIGHTLY better).
Employees don't last very long (2 years max) -- Over worked, under paid, micromanaged, etc
Owner "MB" doesn't show interest in the company, only the "sister company" in China.
WAY to much workload per employee -- when brought up to management you are told to stop complaining.
