Founded in 1927, CCSNYS is a 501(C)(3) membership-based, mission-driven, statewide association of diverse charitable nonprofit organizations. With over 1,300 members, we work to build the capacity of nonprofits and communities to enhance the quality of life through responsive, cost-effective service. Our mission-based activities are enhanced by two – more... subsidiary corporations: Innovative Charitable Initiatives, Inc., and Council Services Plus. We accomplish our mission through two capacity-building service divisions and two subsidiary corporations. Our Nonprofit Capacity Building Division provides a collective policy voice for the sector and serves as a crucial support and information provider through quality, cost-saving group purchasing and discounted programs, our customized, comprehensive training and technical assistance programs, and the provision of fiscal sponsorship and nonprofit incubation. CCSNYS is the only nonprofit association in the state, and perhaps, nationally, that provides a wide array of specialized technical assistance services, including legal and financial, to nonprofits of all kinds in a staff-based, multidisciplinary team model. Doing so in the context of membership, we build a long term, multi-layered service relationship with member nonprofits. We also work in close partnership with government (federal, state and local) and the private sector (community foundations, private foundations, and United Ways) to educate and directly assist their nonprofit constituencies. CCSNYS provides its members a wealth of quality, cost-saving group purchasing and discounted programs (from insurance and employee benefits to payroll outsourcing and publication discounts). For communities, CCSNYS has a long and rich history of working with and facilitating community stakeholders to identify unmet needs and mobilizing assets to cost-effectively address those needs. Services through our Community Capacity Building Division include needs assessments, applied research, consortium and coalition development, program development and evaluation, grant management and acting as a lead agency. CCSNYS is proud to be an active member of the National Council of Nonprofit Associations, the National Association of Planning Councils, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, and Governance Matters! Now, in our 80th year, CCSNYS continues to support, energize and give voice to local nonprofits and communities in the State of New York by adhering to a mission founded on sound management and an unwavering vision. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
