A typical day involved scheduling home visits with program participants, going on the visits and writing progress notes and all other required forms. data collection and entry was ongoing. Referrals to other agencies were made as needed. Each family was treated as unique and so lesson plans were specialized.Community awareness presentations and events were also required on ongoing basis.
I enjoyed helping first time parents learn to be the best they could be by educating and being a strong support for them. I was able to use and improve on skills I already had and learned so many varied skills.
Management was supportive and family focused. The Stephens Center is a small organization with satellite offices in five counties. This is a close nit group of employees.
The hardest part of the job was keeping up with the vast amount of tools or forms that were required as well as the data input and visiting with the participants. As well as maintaining participants files.
The most enjoyable part of this job was providing direct service to Healthy Start participants. I also really liked the data entry components of this job.
