About Stephens County Hospital

Stephens County Hospital is committed to accurate and truthful billing practices. Stephens County Hospital will submit bills to patients, government programs and other payors that are accurate and complete and are for services rendered. All bills will be fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Stephens County Hospital will make reasonable – more... efforts to collect any amounts due from patients or third party payors, including co-payments or deductibles. Stephens County Hospital will maintain a charge master listing of all patient charges. This charge master will be available for inspection upon reasonable notice upon request of patients and the public. All invoices, bills, and claims submitted to government programs and other payors should provide sufficient information and documentation to substantiate the particular healthcare service rendered, the medical necessity of such service, and the charge for such service. Discounts from established charge master prices will be granted to accounts of patients sponsored by government programs to include Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus. Discounts will also be granted to patients with certain managed care insurance plans that have contracts with Stephens County Hospital. Stephens County Hospital will not routinely discount a patient bill or routinely waive the coinsurance or deductible of a patient. Any exceptions to this must be approved by the Administrator. However, certain patients who qualify under the Stephens County Indigent Program or the Indigent Care Trust Fund Program may have all or part of their hospital charges written off. Each patient's medical record should completely and accurately document the specific healthcare services rendered to the patient and the identity of the healthcare professionals involved in the rendering of such services. Stephens County Hospital will refund any money received that is not due to us. Changes to billing requirements will be communicated through in-house training sessions coordinated by the Business Office Manager. All billing personnel will stay apprised and up to date of current billing requirements. Attendance by billing personnel at outside seminars will be required at the discretion of the Business Office Manager and Controller to educate billing personnel on issues applicable to billing requirements. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
