Senior Tax Accountant

Established CPA firm is currently seeking a senior tax accountant.

Unique, flexible opportunity for talented individuals Part-Time and project based positions available.

The position is structured as an hourly employee (no benefits offered), but potential for a full-time position.

The primary purpose of the Senior Tax Accountant is to assist the Principal with delegating work and managing work flows placing the needs of the client first and providing exceptional service every single time.

Duties include but are not limited to the following: training lower-level staff with learning appropriate techniques and procedures; ensuring all billings are current; utilizing research tools; managing client base & pursuing additional services; preparing 1040, S Corp, C Corp, Partnership, Non Profit tax returns, amended tax returns, and projections with higher complexity; meeting with clients as needed; return review; assisting with small business services including Quickbooks file review, preparing adjustments to QB files, and compliance related issues; tax consulting; presenting financial reports to clients/boards as needed; performing tax planning duties by compiling information for tax planning engagements, represent clients in tax audits; prepare letters to clients and on behalf of clients; review and respond to notices; adjusting current year data and producing reports and correspondence (emails, letters and estimates); performing estate settlement duties related to preparing court documents, structuring decedent’s final expenses, liquidating estates and distribution to heirs and preparing federal and state estate returns. May also perform special projects as assigned and/or direct the work of others.
 Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
 CPA preferred
 Minimum of four years related exp
 ProSeries Professional tax software
