What an incredible experience with Stiefel Labs. I am a military logistician with 11 years experience at the director level. Moreover, I have a degree in communications with a journalism specialty and public relations experience.
Initially, I used a recruiter to apply to supply manager and logistics manager positions with Stiefel. After two weeks, the recruiter became frustrated with the HR personnel and gave me her name and phone number with a wish of luck at getting some movement out of them. NO KIDDING...He sacrificed his commission because of the difficulty dealing with Stiefel HR.
I attempted to contact the HR manager at Stiefel for a week without results. I left numerous messages and applied for the logistics manager position and three PR jobs on their website. Keep in mind that the logistics manager position has been listed on their site since October 2006.
I reached the HR manager who told me to contact another individual in her office who was actually the recruiter for the logistics manager. I attempted to contact the Stiefel recruiter for two weeks and often left messages requesting a return phone call. I received nothing. Furthermore, I wrote a complaint comment on their website and received an electronic response that told me I would be contacted shortly. I heard from neither the recruiter and did not get a response to my complaint.
Finally, this morning I reached the recruiter. I introduced myself and told her of my interest in the positions. Moreover, I told her that my resumes has not been reviewed since I posted it two weeks ago. She told me that means I have nothing that fits their positions. I asked her how it was possible that I could not do the logistics manager position considering my 11 years of experience in the field at the director level.
She said, "It is highly inappropriate to pitch yourself to employers."
