Stimson Lumber Company is the remarkable consequence of six generations of a family’s engagement in logging and lumbering. From the pine forests of Michigan to the spruce, fir, and redwood stands on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, Stimson has been a consistent name for more than 160 years in forest products.
Stimson owns and manages approximately 500,000 acres of timberland throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. In addition to our timberland, we operate 7 manufacturing operations in Oregon and Idaho. A steady flow of raw materials from our own company lands allows us the flexibility to run our manufacturing facilities in the most efficient manner possible while effective use of capital for process improvements and employee empowerment has resulted in top tier mill performance within the industry.
At Stimson, we strive to provide a workplace that attracts, motivates and retains employees that upholds our focus on excellence, personal accountability and leadership. Stimson has a progressive, forward thinking culture with a focus on developing our people. Our employees are given the tools and opportunities to maximize their talent and achieve professional and personal goals.
Stimson has a long history of supporting employees and their families through competitive pay, outstanding benefits including: paid time-off, life and disability insurance, and retirement. It is more than just a job — it is a chance to build a new career, apply knowledge to new challenges, or master another skill. We hire people who are passionate about what they do every day, have a desire to make a difference and thrive in a team environment. As a result, employees are part of a team that embraces creative problem solving, team work and initiative.
Employee safety is not something we take lightly. In addition to our safety committee, all employees have a strong commitment to safety. We foster an environment that encourages employees to share their ideas and opinions by developing our managers to listen and engage employees.
