Fun, fast pasted environment that is constantly changing

A typical day at work starts off with debriefing with the staff that was in before on the mood in the home. Getting instructions for what needs to happen next. From what they tell me its my job to analysis in real time the mental state of each client and figure out how to help them out the best, whether that be leaving them alone, or speaking about – more...  an incident that might have just occurred, or rewarding and encouraging them for good behavior. Once I have done that I say hello to each client I check all doors or exits to insure safety. I then start working with the clients with the clients. Whether that be arranging their scheduling so I can drive them to a friends home, negotiating curfews, to a extra curricular activities. Once the activities for the night have been organized I take action either by driving them or arranging transportation. I then depending on the shift will start a meal I then cook, set the table; eat with the clients then we will clean up as a group. Again that requires me to organize tasks, delegate and follow through making sure that they are completed. After the meal depending on the shift we might do an activity like play outside, arts and crafts or movie time, Then I get all the clients off to bed depending on the age some can get themselves for bed other require assistance. Usually around bed time the other staff will come in and I will then debrief them on the moods and attitudes of the clients how they were through out the day and triggers that I observed. I've learned from this job to never stop learning, I am constantly challenged by a client if a client is yelling and screaming at you it can be difficult but the key is knowing your client knowing how to deal with them you can only do that by being observant, communicating well and being non judgmental. The most enjoyable part of my job is constantly being able to learn, being challenged to adapt at a moments notice I enjoy a fast-pasted pressure filled work environment. – less
