Driver/Route Trainer/Driver Trainer (Former Employee), Neenah, WIDecember 11, 2014
Pros: good management
Cons: pay and benefits
Management is very good. Pay isn't the greatest. But when you leave the office you leave it there.

CDL Driver Straight Truck (Former Employee), Neenah, WINovember 17, 2014
Pros: on call, drive when you want.
Cons: your just a number, pay cuts no pay increases, no respect.
Do it their way or your out the door, don't care what employees have to say. They have favorite drivers that get regular hours, the rest get just enough to keep them off the unemployment line and not enough for vacation and holiday pay. I was there eight years, was fun the first couple years, then the all mitie DOLLAR went to their heads. No pay increase, lots of pay cuts. Driving trucks pushing 1,000,000 miles, with LOTS of break downs on the road, and you don't get paid for sitting with a break down. No that a boy for getting JOB done well, just get load delivered, and get back. I could go on and on, if your retired, great supplemental income, because if your supporting a family, move on.

Fun, enjoyable, able to see other states
On-Call Driver (Former Employee), Neenah, WIJuly 13, 2014
It was nice to be able to travel and see other states I wouldn't have seen otherwise, was fun driving to other states even if only for a short period. I learned how to use a GPS and how to keep a daily log book. The hardest part of the job was probably how crazy the traffic could be at times and the times when the vehicle broke down.

On-Call Driver (Former Employee), Green Bay, WIAugust 21, 2013
Pros: lots of driving. flexible schedule.
Cons: inconsistant hours for covering cost of living
Not for the feint of heart. Better for supplemental income, instead of as your main job. Management is willing to be flexible. And no forced dispatch.

Fast Paced
Operations Manager (Former Employee), Rockford, ILAugust 20, 2012
Pros: fast pace
Cons: on call 24/7
This was a very fast paced demanding job. I had great drivers and good office people surrounding me. When a customer called, I was required to make sure that we had drivers available to get their product to its destination in a timely manner. Hardest part of the job was being on call 24/7

Van Delivery Driver (Current Employee), Davenport, IAJuly 14, 2012
I enjoyed working for Straight Shot. May days are very busy. When I took the job I knew I could be on call 24-hours a day.

Some times I think my co-workers don't care because they do nothing to keep vehicles clean - only to put gasoline in vehicle at the end of their shift,

The hardest part of the job is the have taken a pay cut in 2009 to help out because of the economy and we keep hearing we will get it back and so far it has't happened. I also worked for Straight Shot from April 2006 thru October 2009.

The management seems to be doing ok.

I only work part-time and do not know a lot going on; only what I hear in the required meetings.

No room for advancement. Pay raises are rare. No recognition for your efforts.
