My first Job
Sandiwch Artist (Former Employee), Stamford, CTOctober 25, 2014
Pros: free lunch, gret environment
Cons: pay wage, over worked, worked by yourself
At Subway I did a lot of prep work. We baked the bread and also the cookies. We cut what vegetables had to be cut, with a slicing machine. I tended to the lie and also the cash register. I had to make sure the chips, drinks, and front, where the food was, were stocked. I learned everything that I now know from this job. I learned how to work independently, – more... in a face paced environment. I learned how to work under pressure, multi task and lead. The management and managers were great. they worked with you hours and gave hours to those they knew would work. My co workers, were ok. The hardest part of the job would be having to work by yourself for an hour until the next person comes in to help out. But, the most enjoyable part of the job was the fact that I gained all my skills from this job. – less

An ok Place to Work
Sandwich Artist (Former Employee), Ellensburg, WAOctober 25, 2014
Pros: half-off lunch, free fountain drinks for the length of your shift, and decent pay for the area.
Cons: short breaks, health and safety issues
A typical day at work would include starting by counting a new till for the register, followed immediately by cleaning the front line (the counter where the food is at Subway), then the toasters and the oven. After this, I would pull out bread to thaw so that I could make it later in the day. I would heat up the oven and then bake cookies. While the – more... cookies were baking, I would clean out the microwaves, the heat-well, and sweep and mop behind the line. After the cookies were done I would pull and prepare bread for baking, fill the front fridge, and begin doing dishes. When the bread is ready to bake, I would season it and put it in the proofer. After this, it would go in the oven while I prepped the day's cookies to be sold. All of this while still helping customers on a night shift. On a more-often-than-not basis, I would have to play catch-up when I got to work and do part of the task list from the previous shift. If you can manage to put up with this, it could be a good place to work, – less

unfair hours. felt pushed around with my schedule.
Sandwich Artist and Cashier (Former Employee), Albuquerque, NMOctober 24, 2014
Pros: half a sub per 8 hour shift. clean work place
Cons: no hours, general managers, work coordination, work schedule
it was a good work place jokes and essay going. However i did not get fair hours at all. I was promised 20 plus hour per week before i had started. i had quit my other to jobs to make sure i could perform the task of this job. Needless to say i was brought in for one hour long shifts sometimes twice a day, the most i made on a paycheck was no more then – more... 180.00 not to mention i was the pay was biweekly. There is more but that is the basics of it. I still like to work and do my best no matter the circumstance. – less

one of my favorite jobs..
Store Manager/Sales Manager (Former Employee), Kansas City, MOOctober 24, 2014
Pros: leadership, noticeable changes
Cons: management
This was by far one of my favorite jobs. I loved being a leader to my crew and see the change in them as we went along. The change in the store in sales, customer, food cost was significant and it was nce to see that there was a difference made.
Management was really terrible and I felt like my concerns were never addressed properly which led to my – more... leaving. – less

Shift Manager (Former Employee), Saint Paul, MNOctober 23, 2014
Pros: free lunches for 'managers'
Cons: short breaks
A typical day at work would be worrying if someone was going to call in. I learned not to lift heavy things without the support of my legs. Management, I would rate as poor. After my first manager quit, the second manager was out of control. He'd disappear for 10-15 minutes and when he returned he'd reek of cigarettes and sometimes, I swear, marijuana. – more... I lost track of the co-workers. So many people came and went. The hardest part of the job was telling people was to do at my age. I was shift manager, so when the manager wasn't in I kind of got responsible and told people what to do. Otherwise they'd just be standing around. The enjoyable part of the job was getting to go home early, which was rare! – less

Shift Manager/Senior Sandwich Artist (Current Employee), Milford, CTOctober 22, 2014
I am a very reliable person. I am always on time to work. I always stay after work to wait for another co-worker to come in. I go into work and have a daily list that I have to get done before the lunch rush that comes in. I have to prepare bread, stock the bain, make sure food is good to use and sell. Offer services with a smile and keep the customers – more... happy. Prepare their food correctly. Ring them out at the cash register. Stock shelves and clean in down time. – less
