Great stable position, but no benefits or room for advancement.
Sandwich Artist (Former Employee), Louisville, KYJuly 16, 2014
Pros: free lunches, flexible hours, great display of teamwork.
Cons: short breaks, no benefits or room for advancement.
This was a great job to have while finishing school. Hours are flexible and staff is great. There are only 2 positions though and one of those is the manager. The other is employee so no room for advancement unless the manager leaves.

A typical day
Sandwich Artist/ Cashier (Former Employee), Siler City, NCJuly 15, 2014
Pros: free lunch
Cons: rude customers
A typical day at work consisted of taking care of customers, cleaning tables, sweeping floors, washing dishes, cleaning the restrooms, and being productive. The best part of work was when customers commented on the great job I did. My co-workers became my family. We worked as a team to get our store the cleanest we could. I enjoyed working at Subway. – more... It taught me a lot of what I know now, to help me with my future jobs. – less

Pros: free food
Cons: everything else
I worked 50 hours a week at subway as an assistant manager. The hours sucked. The clientele is picky. The only major plus at working there is the free sandwiches.

Great place to work if good management.
Sandwich Artist (Former Employee), Magalia, CAJuly 15, 2014
Pros: easy to develop a routine, nice to make relationships with regular customers
Cons: no advancement, no employee meals
Not a good place to work if you have terrible Management. Hiring nothing but people in the managers circle of friends. Being forced to train new employees and not being paid to do so and not have a job title to do so.

Hectic work place!
Sandwich Artist (Current Employee), Plano, ILJuly 14, 2014
The job was not bad its just always busy especially when you have to come in and first thing make back ups for the next day and then have to go back and forth between making sandwiches and doing the work that needs to get done to close at the end of the day. I'm not one to talk bad about workers but there has been times that i've wanted to quit because – more... workers have made me feel bad to the point where i'm crying and that's wrong. One week I would work crazy hours and the next I had like none. – less

Sandwich Artist (Former Employee), Colorado City, TXJuly 13, 2014
Pros: free six inch per shift
Cons: short breaks and had to attend to customers on your break sometimes
A typical day at work would be that I would go in around 6:30 or sooner to start prepping the store. I would heat up the hot meat areas and turn on the refrigerated storage spots (the counter that held the food in front). I would make start making the bread first and cookies. I learned how to make bread and how to prepare food and stock vegetables and – more... meats at the same time with customers in and out while taking phone orders and window orders at the same time. Management wasn't very good and very untrustworthy. My co-workers didn't seem like they knew what they were doing with the exception with a few. The hardest part about the job is when it gets busy and you still have to take phone orders and window orders in a timely fashion AND cut vegetables to stock at the same time. – less
