Mount Miguel Covenant Village (Spring Valley, California), part of a nation wide family of CARF-CCAC accredited CCRC's: Covenant Retirement Communities, 5th largest AAHSA Ziegler Top 100, is seeking a Health Care Sales and Marketing Representative. This position is accountable for coordinating activities related to the marketing of all levels of care, with particular emphasis on maintaining the budgeted occupancy level for health care. Under the direct supervision of the Administrator- Healthcare, this individual will assist in assuring that all inquiries are responded to in a timely manner and appropriate follow-up contacts are initialed and documented. In addition, this position coordinates the facility-based rehabilitation and medical service team and interacts with various referral and payer sources.
The successful candidate will have:
- Five years experience in a continuing care retirement community and/or skilled nursing facility, required.
- Experience in an acute, sub acute or SNF managed care setting and familiarity with case management functions, preferred.
- Marketing or related experience, desired.
This position reports directly to the Administrator – Healthcare and is administrative in nature. This position respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors and co-workers, and maintains a positive customer service relationship practicing honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance. In performance of duties, the Admissions Coordinator is entrusted with greeting prospective residents and giving tours of campus with particular emphasis on health facility tours, including responding to questions and explaining policies according to guidelines. The expectation is that the complete adherence to the established procedures will result in reaching and maintaining the expected occupancy level in the health care. Receiving phone calls and greeting walk-ins inquiring about the health facility also responding to questions and explaining policies according to guidelines resulting in and increase in, and the maintenance of, the expected occupancy level for the health facility. Maintain an active telephone follow-up, response procedure with appropriate documentation in response to health facility inquiries. Provide follow-up correspondence to discharge planners regarding admissions from the hospital.
The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in English with residents and staff. The position must also be able to read and write English well in order to maintain records. The individual must have a high degree of interpersonal skills and project a friendly and courteous personality. It further requires a person who can handle the public graciously and is understanding of the needs of older people. Highly developed clerical and organizational skills are needed as well as the ability to communicate effectively over the telephone. The position requires familiarity with word processing and computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
