Terrible Place to Work Since Altice Took Over
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Eastern USApril 19, 2017
Suddenlink used to be a nice place to work prior to Altice USA buying it. There is a culture of fear and absolutely no positive reinforcement for work that you do from Altice executives. The company has decided to close its Parkersburg, WV, call center on June 30. This follows layoffs last year across the entire company and voluntary retirement packages offered to show people the door.

Work weeks are 70 hours. Emails come at all hours. Because they have cut so many positions, there are few people left to do the work, and those people are constantly pressured to do more. Merit increases are low, often 2% or so. Insurance costs are a function of your salary.....the more you make, the more you pay.

Techs are being forced to move to an associated company and losing their free cable and internet as well as being forced to cash out their vacation.

Warehousing will be doing the same thing in the coming months.

There are no company lunches or gatherings unless you are involved in sales. There is no feeling of unity at all.
Pros
Free cable and internet ONLY if you work for Suddenlink
Cons
Terrible work environment, management's focus on driving revenues by increasing prices, management's lack of concern for layoffs

I enjoyed working with this company. Great environment. Great Management. Took 100 calls per day from customers all across US, learned billing, data entry type clerical work, learned how to be more in control, and confident, even in a fast pace, constantly changing industry
Pros
Office events and time off flexibility
Cons
closed our call center

Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Tyler, TXApril 19, 2017
Very productive, goal oriented, professional work environment I have learned how to be a better sales agent and work with different tools to complete work assignment. The hardest part is when we can't help customers with certain accounts that may be a touchy subject for them to discuss
Pros
Always room to grow
Cons
disappointing customers

Technical Support Agent (Former Employee) –  Lake Havasu City, AZApril 12, 2017
this job was not the worst job I have had by far but as a tech support agent I was enforced to handle billing, tech support, customer retention, and sales when other departments ie billing etc.. only were responsible for their singular department even though the pay wage was the same for all departments.

most of the Leads acted as if it was a inconvenience for them to help you when that was their job.

to be fair the pay wage was pretty decent for the city that it was in, however I don't believe it was enough, especially for the tech support department.

definitely wasn't a bad company to work for but I don't think i would work there again
Pros
best pay in area of LHC, easy job function, decent commission
Cons
miscommunication, unfair job responsibilities through out departments with out pay difference

Retail Sales Agent IV - Assist customers (Current Employee) –  Leesville, LAApril 11, 2017
Great place to work, looking to move out of sales and into more office
related work. Like to work in filing or billing. Started as customer service agent loved helping customer, than job title changed to Retail Sales Agent and had sales goals. Typical day arrive at work, take drop box payments, record. put cash in drawer, assist customer as needed. make bank deposit, count cash drawer at end of day. I've learned not to take it personally when customer is upset, let them vent and look for a solution to problem. The boss is always available and helpful. Hardest part of job is our value is now based on number of sales and bundle sales. Most enjoyable part of job is seeing co-workers.
Pros
Insurance, employee discounts, leave time.
Cons
everything now is based on numbers sale sale sale, getting new customer not worried about keeping old customer happy.

Lazy sups
Technical Support and Sales (Current Employee) –  Lubbock, TXApril 9, 2017
Lazy sups. When asking for help get ready for the fifth degree rude and unhelpful. Although u might sit next to nice people around u most of the time If you can breath from the back to back calls and a not flexible at all they have a stupid point system and a u need paper work filled out for everything. This job will drain u emotionally and mentally. Make you not to ever want to work for a call center again. Oh and their dress code is trash no kind of shorts in 100 degree weather. And their new owner is a penny pincher.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Parkersburg, WVApril 3, 2017
The job seemss to be changing and makes current empoyees feel very insecure. The changes are unconfortable and not sure what the company has in store for the furture or what their true intentions are. The changes could be good if you knew you had job security but it feels like they are trying to get rid of their current employees so they can shut down certain arreas and shift them to merge with the current companies they own overseas.
Pros
benefits, flexible
Cons
job security unstable
