Job was fine but was not a condusive work environment.
Administrative Services Assistant (Current Employee) – Getzville, NY – November 10, 2016
Job was great work experience but was very glad I moved onto another job. Worked for people with Strong personalities but over all wasn't pleased with the business and managerial integrity. Had a hard time working for someone that I didn't believe was doing the right things.
Great place for special education of children with disabilities
Speech Therapist (Former Employee) – Getzville, NY – September 25, 2015
Busy, challenging and rewarding place to work. There are some very challenging behaviors and cognitive abilities of students that makes teaching and learning for the students a difficult task. Huge support from related service and behavior management professionals that helps to alleviate sometimes stressful situations. Most staff have great knowledge and experience in the field. Frequently under staffed making a day for employees hard and exhausting is a down fall. High turn-over of employees with an exception of a few VERY DEDICATED workers that are to be admired.Overall---it is a fun, exciting, rewarding and educational for those unfamiliar with autism.
Monetary and benefits for full time certified positions not bad
Teacher assistant and 1:1 aide salaries do not compensate well to their worth, McDonald's will soon be a more attractive place to work
Medicaid Service Coordinator (Former Employee) – Getzville ny – August 31, 2015
I enjoyed this company very much. There is room to grow and learn on the job. They train the employees in advance to allowing them to work with the students. The students were at times violent and it could be over whelming at times but the staff are supportive of each other.
Adolescent Counselor (Former Employee) – Amherst, NY – July 27, 2015
A typical day at work included providing an intense Summer camp program for children with ADHD and high-functioning Autism. Developed a sports management team in which students assisted in taking inventory of athletic equipment, maintaining the athletic equipment, and setting up athletic fields for afternoon practices and games. Worked with students in developing money management skills through developing and carrying out their own business plan for a weekly parent night concession stand. Co-workers and Management provided excellent support to students and staff alike. The hardest part of the job was learning new skills necessary to effectively reach and educate students. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning new skills and having the opportunity to work with phenomenal students, staff, management, and parents in an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere.
Developing new skills, working with supportive management and staff
TEACHER ASSISTANT (Current Employee) – Getzville – May 3, 2015
It was a great company to work for but with all the reconstructing that is happening in NYS they are making it impossible to reach the goals they have set for us. They tend to be very harsh and there is no job stability.
