On August 31, 2007, it entered into an agreement to sell the United States subsidiaries that comprised the Independent Financial Marketing Group business to LPL Holdings, Inc. The sale closed on November 7, 2007. Sun Life Financial completed its acquisition of Genworth Financial, Inc.’s U.S. Employee Benefits Group on May 31, 2007.
