Extremely fun and great place to grow.
Store Manager (Former Employee), Willowbend Mall – May 16, 2013
Pros: one free pair of glasses at anniversary
Cons: you want to buy several pair throughout the year
I throughly enjoyed working for Sunglass Hut. The knowledge that I was able to pass onto customers about protecting their eyes and what looks better fit their face was satisfying. I trained my staff to listen to customer needs and figure out what they were using their glasses for. We increased the store volume 10% over the annual goal.

Fun Place to Working!!!
Store Manager (Former Employee), Meridian, MS – May 15, 2013
I love working at Sunglass Hut because it gives me the opportunity to be in tune with high fashion and style. I find that our customers and I share a common ground. Sunglass Hut has also helped me polish up on my people skills and I have had face time with a lot of great people who can help me grow.

Fun place to work, high enery fast paced enviornment, and great customers.
Operations/Store Manager (Current Employee), New York, NY – May 10, 2013
Pros: great team, fun people, amazing product, excellent benefits.
Cons: the pay is a little low, but the bonus structrue makes up for that.
A typical day with us is having the opportunity to interact with great customers from all over the world.
We learn so much about the different brands of glasses, we learn about the history of how the brands first began and where. We learn how to deliver the best customer experience, and how certain shapes fit different facial structures.
We as managers – more... always strive to make our associates the best of the best. It is our practice to develop the associates to grow to the next level.
There is really nothing difficult in our jobs, everyday we have the opportunity to meet new people, we get to have them try on all the different shapes of glasses while we do the same. Not many people get to play with the product and customers every day. – less

Great opportunity that advanced my knowledge of the retail world.
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – May 8, 2013
Pros: meeting great people
Cons: opportunity for advancement
This job was the best when it comes to learning how to deal with the many different kinds of people and personalties you encounter in retail. It prepared me for what was to come in my other jobs and how to properly deal with any issues or complaints a customer may have regarding the product or operations of the store/company I was representing at the – more... time. I enjoyed the people I worked with and made many great friends at this job, that I am still in touch with till this day. – less

Store Manager (Former Employee), Ventura, CA – May 6, 2013
I started off as a part time sales associate and was able to work myself into the role of a store manager within a short period of time. The compnay has fun incentives and contests/spiffs. I left because there wasnt much opportunity beyond Store Management

Lights, Camera, And ACTION!
Store Manager (Current Employee), Sacramento, CA – May 5, 2013
Pros: free manage environment, fun, and very diverse
Cons: low pay, single coverage, not enough hours
A typical day at sunglass hut is really about having fun and making the customers day! You are the specialist and our job is to gain our customers trust. You learn that being in a sales environment is not just about the register its what happens before you even get to the selling, to create those long term and forever loyal clients. Being that I am – more... the store manager I manage myself, the regional managers make sure that you have full responsibility over your store. My co-workers love to just have fun with the customers and be their personal stylist, in doing so, being very much so savvy of the hottest trends and designers. The hardest part of the job is making sure you are always inline with the Macy's rules and regulations because we are a leased department, but the most enjoyable part of creating those emotional connections with our customers outweigh the cons. – less

High expectations with little resources
General Manager (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – May 3, 2013
Work load did not balance with allowed time or payroll. DM support not existing, and only repeated "key phrases" not really able to lead you into the correct path.

Retailing job
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Saginaw, MI – April 23, 2013
Pros: generally a fun job
Cons: sometimes boring though
A normal day is to tend to the store independently, with little to no supervision. The actual hardest part of the job is not having enough to do; after completing the small amounts of paperwork and setting up the store (which consists of only sunglasses and a few small accessories) you basically wait. customers aren't always streaming, sometimes there – more... may be nothing to do for an hour or so. I liked this job because selling nice things to people called for some positive connections with clients, some people would be regular. This job taught me much about the marketing system and how to retail and mostly how to maintain a professional attitude upon beginning my college experience. – less

productivity, quality control and good service are the keys
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), plaza las americas, Puerto Rico – April 19, 2013
Pros: first inside on new trends, discount, helping others
Cons: healthcare
typical day on the store will be count all the product, assit every person entering the store, do schedules, receive and process merchandise.
every day you learn something new just because every person is different and have dfferent taste; some are more modern, some are practicasl others are classic, so you have to develop a way to be able assist every – more... costumer and every need.
hardest part maybe is dealing with the shoplift and the warranty. the fisrt one is just to balance and to know youre store or work place all around and have the control of it, the warranty issue it depends the brand but the important thing its to keep the customer satisfy.
for me the most enjoyable part of the ob, was having a satisfy customer that will come back to me and will recommend me to others. – less

Selling Sunglasses to fit everyone
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Calumet City, IL – April 10, 2013
Pros: meeting all types of people
Cons: pay rate can be improved.
Worked directly with the public providing a more interpersonal experience with the consumers. This position allowed me to fulfill the consumer need before entering the store and upon the arrival solidify that need with the consumer.

I love my job!
Store Manager (Current Employee), NW – March 28, 2013
Pros: free pair of glasses every year.
I'm a store manager and have been for 7 years. I love the company and am a lifer! The advice id give to a potential manager is that you should ask the Regional Manager a lot about their style of leadership, communication, how often they'll visit you, etc. As long as your RM has a leadership style that you'll thrive under you are going to be a lifer – more... too! Also, really be selective about the employees you hire, they can make your job so much easier and way more fun of they're the right people!

Pros: you get paid for being a top performer, you handle all aspects of the business yourself, the culture is positive and energetic, other managers are super helpful and supportive

Cons: most stores require you to be alone often, but you have customers who will keep you busy. You have to stand all day and your feet can hurt when it's new for you. – less

Productive and fun
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Seattle, WA – March 28, 2013
Pros: experience, discounts, flexible hours, commission
Cons: short breaks, standing on feet all day, quotas
The main things about this job are high energy and making a connection with your customer. So if you like having fun and making new friends, this job is for you. Of course it is retail, so sometimes you get grumpy customers but they are few and far in between! This job has taught me how to work in a tight knit group and how to communicate with my customers! – more... Commission is a store goal so you have to work together to reach your goals. – less

Always moving at a fast pace and up beat!
Store manager (Current Employee), Chicago – March 26, 2013
My typical day starts with counting the sunglasses and starting the daily paper work. Then its all about creating energy and emotional connections during the sales process. The last year has been full of hard lessons and great chances for learning. Including fully developing the people under me.
