Solar Energy Sales Professional

ATTENTION: For those sales professionals able to work on an independent contractor basis with an appetite for unlimited earning potential in the hottest industry in California, than this fully commission based sales position is for you. Those unable to provide reliable transportation and gas money or the ability to cover their expenses during a short "ramp up and training period" need not apply. This position is for closers! If you are a closer, please read on as there are opportunities to earn a car allowance, gas card, company cell phone, expense reimbursement and commission draw. You need demonstrated sales ability, advanced networking capabilities and lead generation skills to succeed.

Summary:

Responsible for all business-to-business and in-home sales of respective solar energy products in assigned accounts or regions. Manage quality and consistency of product and service offerings and delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Participate in solar technology and company product training
- Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of
contacts to be made
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from marketing plans and field activity
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
- Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts
- Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
- Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract / bid services
- Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up activities
- Identify and resolve client concerns
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up and adhere to goals
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or
feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff
- Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales
- Other duties as assigned

Secondary Responsibilities:

- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows and telemarketing events
- Follow-up for collection of payment
- Coordinate installation schedules and delivery of product and services

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required (this is normally acquired through a high
school diploma or equivalent)
- Ability to persuade and influence others
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Demonstrated ability working with salesforce.com and construction estimating tools
- Ability to create, compose and edit written materials
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques (this is normally acquired through a
combination of the completion of an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree program and three to five
years of sales and / or marketing experience)
- Client visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive
company image to the public

Additional Requirements:

- Basic understanding of construction
- Must have clean DMV record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Previous solar energy / photovoltaic sales experience is required
- Proof of citizenship and/or ability to work in the United States required
- Insure and maintain a safe work environment by utilizing company and personal protective
equipment

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for an office / warehouse environment. Work requires significant weekend or evening work.
