Trainee for Accounts Management Group (Former Employee), Hong Kong – March 27, 2013
Pros: with incentive/bonus
Cons: short breaks
Dealing with customers; documentations for remittance, retail and corporate loans. Management so far is providing the leadership to all the staff. Employees are efficient. I've learned about doing some business strategy, marketing and planning; it improves me on how to handle disciplinary actions with thought and candor while keeping the best interest – more... of the company. The hardest part is that when you are showing your dedication and willingness to do the job but still they don't recognize it; just continue and don't give up because later on they'll see and realize your good intention you are providing to the company. It was fun because we're dealing with thousands of people (although mostly of them are Asian people). – less

Different Contract Positions
Project Manager (Current Employee), Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD – February 14, 2013
Pros: everyday was different
Cons: short-term
Looking to be a part of team for a permanent period time, instead of short term projects. The most difficult part is growing attached to my work colleagues then being switched to a different company. Also, there is no steady income which I need.

productive work place
Customer/Tech (Current Employee), Portland, OR – July 19, 2012
Pros: labors are rewarded with vacations, prizes and the like.
Cons: noisy enviroment, eight hours daily remaining idle, pay flucuation based on service quality provided
A typical day at work will involve executing contact with irrate clients, informing them of applicable bylaws and monthly recurring charges and association fees. What I learned from this particular job is the imortance of remaining focused and not involving myself with all that may be apparent through the job office-the most difficult part of the position – more... is maintaining compliance with regulations that change routinely; the people I am able to interact with makes the job well worth the effort – less

MBA Candidate looking for challenging position
Project Manager (Former Employee), Washington, DC – June 18, 2012
Along with having the adequate experience for the position I have gained a multitude of leadership and linguistic skills from traveling and studying abroad. I have learned more from my experiences in foreign countries than I ever would in a classroom. Regardless of haggling with a street vender in bustling Cairo or seeking directions to the train station – more... in vibrant Shanghai, I equipped myself with the skills needed to communicate effectively in different cultures and languages. – less

Professional but fun environment
Senior Care assistant (Former Employee), Bournemouth – March 14, 2013
Pros: free lunches, outings with clients and co-workers
Cons: low salary, not enough weekly shifts.
Busy, always on the go, never a dull moment. Although it was a tough environment, we always found time to communicate and work as a fantastic and caring team. I learned that everyone is different with different views and I learned to appreciate different cultures and personalilties. I learned to recognise the different needs for different people. Respect – more... is important. I had an exellent manager which made me work harder and was confident in my job. In this job we as co-workers were always motivating each other. The hardest part of this job was not being able to progress, a bit of a dead end job. I like to work towards something. The most enjoyable, I was able to make a difference in peoples lives when they didnt have much to live for. – less

typical day at work
social care worker (Current Employee), north west london – March 13, 2013
Pros: its very satisfying and rewarding especially if you have a passion for people.
Cons: its a very emotional job and you need to be focused and professional.
I currently work at a care company that provides quality care at home and specialise in working with customers and their families .I work in different parts of north west london, i visit adult with terminal or chronic illnesses. Today was a very emotional day at work. i was supporting one of my terminally ill customers have a shower. In the middle of – more... supporting her she broke down and started crying. i asked what was wrong she said she had something to tell me. i was really taken aback and asked her what it was . she gently told me that she had just found out that her husband had been having an affair for the past two years. This news caught me by surprise and i just tried to be as professional as possible by listening to her and not make any comments. i calmed her down and assured her that it wasnt the end of the world and if she needed to talk i was there. we continued with the shower and was soon time for me to leave.I made her a cup of tea and made sure she was comfortable.i learned that sick and needy people can be very vulnerable and you need to show you are listening and be emphatic to them.It is difficult not to show emotion but the same time you feel satisfied that someone can talk to you and you have lent a listening ear – less
