Tool part couter/Tugger operator.
Tugger operator (Former Employee), Solon, OH – April 8, 2013
A usual day at work consists of counting tool parts and disseminating the data in the computer. Operating a tugger, which is a machine that carries 4 carts, driving around the plant to pick up and drop off packages. The most enjoyable part of the job is that time flies and the days go quickly.

CNC SET UP OPERATOR (Former Employee), HIGHLAND HEIGHTS MICRO PLANT OHIO – April 4, 2013
Pros: good job oppertunities
Cons: 1st shift eats all the fruits
I don't care what all of you say about Swagelok when I was there
I had it good. Benefits/401K/ESOP/HEALTH INS/
I was not a prefect employee I had my ups and downs but I know when I came to work I loved every minute of it. Yes it was 12 hours shift in MICRO FACIELITY in HIGHLAND HEIGHTS from 6pm to 6am night shift . It was a team work and fun to work – more... especially with my trainee . I was there for 7 years and never had a bad day or had fight with my boss or co workers or that I had to watch my back like some of you say here .I worked on GILDAMAISTERS GM67 AND PORTA sometimes on G200 . They send me to school for CNC in TRY C. GOT MY DIPLOMAS for speeds feeds trigs programing etc. Management was great and I know when I was there if I had question they have a answer next day.
I started my first day in Swagelok in WILLOUGHBY Plant 3rd shift and my trainer was good to me never had a problem.
Lunch was long 30min even 10 min breaks .
lunch room full of fruits bagels and soda machine was there and of course coffee machine all free.
And now reason why I quit was 24/7 shift got to me. I couldn't fall a sleep sometimes so it did not work with them so I left well I was young and dumb. other then that if you wona place to build your future SWAGELOK is the right place. – less

They are a company who has no understanding of a life and family outside of their money hungry minds.
Customer Service/Class II Assembler (Former Employee), Solon, OH – December 19, 2012
Pros: free drinks, fruits, and sometimes food was the most enjoyable
Cons: short breaks, you dont get paid for the 1st 15mins, you cant call off or be 1 min late..literally
a typical day at work was like elementary school, you come into a very unprofessional enviroment, Management looks right at u and dont speak to you,and barely speaks back. They have you attend a 15 minute early meeting everyday about metrics, which is fine however its basically letting you know how much money their company made the day before and how – more... much they're looking for the under paid and mistreated to make them today...especially the temporary associates..you're their 15 mins early no pay,and they dont want You to be late or miss a day. it seems like a slave farm but they pretend to have ethics and integrity..They work you like a slave they want you to do 5 or 6 things at a time and still pack 700 parts in an hour..not to speak on the machines are broke down everyday all day and they expect to produce.HR or management was never introduced to you..ou only reconized them because of their white shirts..but any coworker from anywhere that you never seen in your life could come an lightweight repremand you..that company has some real re-evaluating to do..they have indians train you..despite the language barriers. I learned alot because i had to make myself learn it..or ask people who had nothing to do w management, cause management sits in the cafeteria all day. – less

Productive workplace, with a nice lunchroom
OrderFulfiller (Current Employee), Solon, OH – December 4, 2012
Cons: temporary associates have no paid vacations.
A typical day at work consist of me putting a cart on my Bulkpicker. I then take 24 orders place them on my cart and drive around picking parts. I pack the orders and fill out the paperwork and place the orders accordingly. When doing my job I have learned that Swagelok is a great company that produces many valves, and other parts that customers need. – more... My co-workers are very helpful, positive, and hardworking. The hardest part of the job is being able to produce what is expected of you everyday. We have a certain goal to reach at the end of everyday and sometimes it is obtainable and sometimes it is not so easy. I enjoy my co-workers. – less

Great company, Great company-If you don't want to advance
Machine Operator level 3 (Current Employee), Highland Heights, OH – November 23, 2012
Pros: great benifits and shifting, vacation plan is excellent
Cons: will not let you switch dept as positions open
Swagelok is a good solid company to work for on a daily basis, if you are happy and content knowing that the dept you work in is the dept you will stay in. Rather than move thier associates to desired fields they will bring in unskilled temps to fill those positions.

Job Meant For Older People
Assembler (Former Employee), Solon, OH – November 6, 2012
Pros: people, easy work
Cons: no life
I like working at Swagelok. The hours, the people, and work atmosphere was good. It was a easy job to me, I got the hang of working there pretty fast. I like the fact that when I worked there they was a trainer to teach me how to run machines and how to use the computer data base. Also after training my Trainer became a friend and if I ever needed help – more... I was always able to ask for it. The only reason I left this job is because it took up all my time. My schedule was simple wake up, eat, get dress and go to work, come home and sleep and repeat this everyday. I felt like I had no life cause I didn't have time to do extra things outside of work due to the fact that I will be to tired to do anything. – less

High turn over Company
In process Inspector (Former Employee), Solon – October 28, 2012
Pros: benefits
Cons: cult like atmosphere
This company utilizes temps like slaves. They have no intention of hiring most temp for permeant positions. The founder of Swagelok was very conservative. The company still operates like Ronald Reagan was still President. If you have a choice as a technician or professional between Swagelok and anouther company, think twice before you accept an offer.
