About SWANSON GROUP
Fifty years ago, brothers, Dean and Rod Swanson, along with Ed Combs, founded Swanson Group as Superior Lumber Co. in Glendale, Ore. In 1973, Dean and Rod with brother Ray built the Swanson-Superior mill in Noti. Current President Steve Swanson led the purchase of Gregory Forest Products, Inc. in Glendale in 1992, followed by the formation of Superior – more... Helicopter LLC in 1996, and the acquisition of Sun Studs in Roseburg in 2001. The next year all three companies began operating under the Swanson Group name. The company continued to grow and in 2005 purchased Burns Lumber, a wholesale company in Medford, Oregon and also Glide Lumber, a stud mill in Glide, Oregon. In 2007 the company acquired McKenzie Forest Products, a plywood & veneer manufacturer in Springfield, Oregon.
Today, we employ some 1200 people at six mill locations in Glendale, Noti, Roseburg, Glide, Springfield and Grants Pass.
