SEI offers A-to-Z support for meetings of all types, sizes, and durations, convened at single or multiple locations. Our staff plan and execute conferences for as few as 10 and as many as 2,000 participants. These meetings range from informal discussions to concurrent formal sessions with complex agendas. In addition, they may require various technologies, – more... such as video and audio teleconferencing and Internet-based Webcasting, as well as other electronic linkages for training and long-distance education. Final products include policy recommendations, formal proceedings, white papers, media documents, and peer review reports.
SEI also has the personnel and technological capabilities to support clients' special events, whether they are local, national, or international in scope. For example, in 2005, SEI provided support and logistical services for 13 community-based events held as part of the 16th annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month celebration. These events, sponsored by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and its Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, celebrated successes in substance abuse treatment. Equally important, they educated government policymakers, businesspeople, and the general public about SAMHSA's role in promoting recovery and about how individuals and organizations can support treatment in their states and localities.
For this contract, SEI staff provided materials, technical assistance, coaching, and oversight for state-level substance abuse treatment offices and their local planning committees. Results included the following:
SEI exceeded expectations by effectively spreading the funds to support 13, rather than the planned 10, events. The combined attendance for the events was 12,841 people-a 23 percent increase over 2004 attendance figures.
