Marketing Associate (Current Employee) –  Denver, COJuly 9, 2016
At times, during busier periods, be prepared to correct issues as they occur from 4 am to 8 pm. Holidays are the busiest times for your clients so availability around holidays is key to success, taking vacations have led to loss in business. If you work hard and produce above expectation the compensation can be wonderful. Benefits and 401k match is as high as I have seen it. Huge company, lot's of potential for advancement.

Not impressed
Accountant I (Current Employee) –  Cypress, TXJuly 15, 2016
Does not pay well, but expects a lot of hours put in. Benefits are pretty bad, commute is great (Cypress location). Overall, the commute and casual dress code are not worth the poor pay, benefits and work/life balance. Plus, they are constantly making changes in their processes/procedures, and moving their employees into different roles. Lots of meetings but nothing gets done.
Pros
Commute, casual dress code, 9/80 schedule offered
Cons
Pay, benefits, work/life, management, constant changes

Great company to work for.
Marketing Associate (Sales) (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles County, CAJanuary 8, 2017
Sysco is a leader in food distribution and has lots more to sell than
closest competitor .
Hardest working part was to constantly improving your total sale
and margin .
I am still enjoying some of the benefits of working at Sysco L.A.

Sysco lures you in with fake promises. The workload is excessive and the compensation is minimum for such a large billion dollar company. Do not expect good things from Sysco.

Driver (Former Employee) –  Denver, CODecember 18, 2016
Union contract is very company biased. Union policies are more strict and anti-driver than company policies. Supervisors etc..are difficult and unresponsive to concerns. Co-workers are lazy and non professional.
Pros
Good benefits, wages
Cons

Sucks azz..
Forklift Operator (Current Employee) –  Front Royal, VAMay 13, 2016
Managment is worse than horrible... You get paid good in the beginning then only .20 raise every year... Little to no room for advancement... Management are the boss HR works with management to cover their azz... Very demanding work... LM is crazy... no personal life..

FAVORITISM FAVORITISM this place needs a good overhaul starting from the top...

MANAGERS/supervisors are a bunch of controlling/egotistic babies that bullies hourly employees and gets away with it because HR and everyone above them covers for them...

If you try to go to the HR your screwed cause they inform the supervisors who WILL retaliate... Write ups till your fired or quit...

waiting for that fed up coworker scenario..

Great place to make money then move on to a better job once you are able to....
Pros
Great starting pay benefits
Cons
Managers/supervisors/ the people that think they run it

This is a job for a young man with no family. The work is hard the hours are long the pay is good but you're gonna earn it.If you can stick with it you do get better routes but you get paid less because they are easier. Pay is based on the difficulty of the stop estimated travel time etc.

SYSCO consistently promotes from within -- even to a fault. So if you want to "move up," or relocate with the U.S., then this is a good company. Wonderful benefits because of their 150,000 employee base. Typically works weekends and holidays, depending on your job there. Warehouse and Transportation for sure will work weekends.

Cashier and Customer Service (Current Employee) –  New JerseyMarch 27, 2016
Working at whole foods. They give decent pay but management do not interact with any of the workers who they believe are beneath them. Managements such as the ASTL and also the STL do not communicate well with entry level workers. They are very picky and bias bout who they want to climb up the ladder. They communicate more on a friendlier level when it comes to who can work the longest and hardest. The customers was the hardest to deal with when working there if u don't bag there grocery correctly or if they feel that you don't communicate enough with them during there check out the customers will make a complaint and you will be one step close to getting fired.

DO NOT WORK AT WHOLE FOODS
Pros
raise every 6 months
Cons
you have to fill out a paper stating why you deserve a raise

They have a great benefits, excellent employer. The most enjoyable part of my day is working with customers. Most of my peers have been working at my facility for greater than 10 years, even 20 years. Great longevity, the staff takes pride it the work, and we know Sysco cares about their staff.
