Sino-Forest Corporation (Sino-Forest) is a commercial forestry plantation operator in the People’s Republic of China. As of December 31, 2008, the Company had approximately 347,000 hectares of forestry plantations located in southern, south-western and eastern China. Its principal businesses include the ownership and management of forestry plantation – more... trees, the sale of standing timber and wood logs, and manufacturing of downstream engineered-wood products. Sino-Forest’s operation comprises two business segments: Wood Fibre Continuing Operations and Manufacturing & Other Operations. Revenues from Wood Fibre Operations are derived from plantation fibre and other fibre. The Manufacturing & Other Operations include particleboard, engineered wood flooring, oriented strand board, sawn timber, finger joint board, and greenery and nursery operations.
