The Facility Manager, under supervision of the Director of Operations, will ensure all city and transfer contracts are correctly administered and will assist in the development of the local market area and interact regularly with all Directors, Area Market Managers, service managers, drivers and customers. The Manager will also report all issues and concerns requiring attention to the Director of Operations and/or the System Managers.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Hires staff, conducts driver training, plans routes for residential, front-load and roll-off route drivers, and oversees transport deliveries and collection operations
Ensures all scheduled drivers in all systems complete each day’s work
Supervises all hauling company drivers and dispatchers and conduct inspections on all company vehicles
Manages the landfill operation and reporting, dispatch office and oversee all delivery drivers
Coordinates between all departments including maintenance, central dispatch, and System Managers to ensure the highest quality of service possible is being provided
Maintains all key performance indicators for the department and level of employment in accordance with workload in order to ensure quality service and productivity
Ensures that the daily workload is completed in accordance with TDS policies and standards
Evaluates equipment quality and availability on a daily basis by communicating with the Maint. Dept.
Regularly reviews route data and interact with drivers to ensure that TDS standards and policies are upheld; conducts route observations and driver ride-longs
Ensure all employees receive a performance evaluation at least annually
Monitors and controls driver hours in order to limit labor expenditures and maintain TXDOT compliance
Reviews all Routeware reports for accuracy, reviews or investigate al accidents; inspect company vehicles
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company safety regulations
Work with the Sales Department to integrate operational concerns on all new business
Resolve customer service discrepancies with sales/customer care and customers
Identify service issues that will need to be passed on to the night shift, lead driver or the dispatcher before you depart work; check the planned work, status of the drivers, and assign available trucks for the night shift
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of previous experience
Advanced operational skills, strong logistical aptitude
Basic proficiency in use of Internet
Working knowledge of all systems involved in solid waste management and disposal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office – i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to become proficient in all TDS computer systems, including but not limited to the following: Routeware, iPak, MapPoint and IT
PREFERRED
Solid waste back ground with facility management experience
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Class BSW License
