Townsend is in the market for a top notch Human Resources Director who enjoys a fast-paced environment. The Human Resources Director completes all governmental and administrative reporting requirements consistent with State and Federal Law; reviewing, developing, implementing and monitoring policies and procedures related to personnel performance and safety; ensuring policies are applied consistently by managers; conducting and/or coordinating on-boarding activities of new employees; all activities related to employee relations; participate as a strategic member of the business units management team on people/talents matters. The incumbent must also work well with others to accomplish their responsibilities, including the Management Team, an external network of colleagues supporting recruitment efforts.
The responsibilities for the Human Resources Director are as follows:
Primary Functional responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Oversees recruiting, testing, and selection process to fill vacant positions. * Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance and consults legal counsel. * Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets Corporate and top management information needs. * Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to recommend comprehensive compensation plan. * Communicates directives guiding department managers of Corporate and Business Units policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits. * Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. * Administers benefits programs and renewals such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, employee assistance and wellness programs. * Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals. * Develops communication avenues for the shop floor personnel (monthly newsletters and crew meetings). * Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. * Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment. * Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. * Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. * Prepares budget recommendations of Human Resources operations. * Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation. * Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations. * Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees.
Qualified candidates would have the following: * 4-year degree in HR, business or related field or 8+ years experience as an HR professional and 3+ years experience in a leadership role * PHR/SPHR certification preferred Knowledge, Skills and Ability: * In-depth knowledge of workforce regulations on a Federal and State level. * Ability to effectively communicate to management and employee personnel to promote growth and maintain positive morale. * Develop presentations, spreadsheets, and charts for upper management Requirements. Computer literacy: Computer programs include: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Other programs as required.

- Able to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
- Able to positively interact and develop rapport with employees, professional support staff, team members and various levels of staff
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Able to demonstrate competency in the following areas:
o Manual dexterity to keep documentation records
o Able to hear ordinary conversation and telephone communications
o If a recovering individual, must have a minimum of one (1) year of continuous sobriety and actively work a program of recovery
