Shift Mgr (Former Employee), Middletown, OHJuly 3, 2014
Pros: first job learning experience.
Cons: pay and lack of promotion.
This was my first job, I was promoted to shift mgr. I ran shifts and was taught asst. mgr. duties. when I asked to be promoted to asst. mgr. I kept being told there was no openings but was still expected to do the work.

Cashier/Dishwasher/Drive-In orders/Make Line
Cashier/Dishwasher (Former Employee), Sparta, WIJuly 3, 2014
Pros: dedicated hours since most people wanted me to take their shifts all the time.
Cons: most coworkers were using drugs, and complained daily about working.
I would have really enjoyed working there more if I felt there was an actual potential to move up in the company. Seeing as most of my co-workers were known drug users, as they would continuously brag about what they were doing outside on their break, I deemed that there was no way to move up. Especially when said people never wanted to work and wouldn't – more... even show up for a shift. Dedicated work hours yes, but working almost 80 hours a week at a pay rate of $8.25 an hour, doesn't add up. Did I mention doing the work of three people at once due to people not showing up on a regular basis? – less

Taco bell was a good place, friendly workers and managers, the hardest part was dealing with mess ups on food, and the most enjoyable part was closing.

Typical Fast Food Experience
Cashier (Former Employee), Marianna, FLJuly 1, 2014
working after school was my normal. Go in to work, ring out customers, wash dishes, and clean the store. I enjoyed the fast pace, and found it easy to get along with management and coworkers alike. The hardest part was keeping up with all the hours while handling homework and extra curricular activities

not the best place to work at
Asst. Manager (Former Employee), Belleville, NJJuly 1, 2014
taco bell was a very stressful place to work at. They required so much work for a restaurant that doesn't even make money. It wouldn't be a problem to apply the requirement to a five star restaurant, but taco bell is no where near that

Great place for a first job
Shift Manager/Cashier (Former Employee), Grand Rapids, MIJuly 1, 2014
Pros: flexible hours, learning expiernce
Cons: short staff, lower pay
Being in fast food you learn a lot of multitasking, working well with other co workers, customer service, etc
Making food, dealing with cash and all kinds of numbers, making sure food needs to be order. it's a great job to learn a lot of skills and flexible with school if you're part time

A decent job and a decent paycheck
Food Champion (Former Employee), Ruston, LAJuly 1, 2014
Pros: discounted meal break, pay raises when earned but not by much
Cons: can have unenthusiastic coworkers and troublesome customers
Although fast food is not an ideal job it's not always a terrible job. If you do a good job and make sure to follow procedure you can move up in hours and possibly get a promotion from food/service champion to food/service trainer or leader, as well as more hours.

Fun work environment; skeptical about manager reliability and skill.
Service Champion (Current Employee), Mankato, MNJuly 1, 2014
Pros: friendly atmosphere among co-workers and certain shift leaders
Cons: gm never seems to have everything completely together or organized.
Co-workers are great and supportive. Scheduling is slightly skewed (not put up in a timely manner) which causes conflicts in social life and school work. Management needs to be looked at. The skill set and personality of the managers needs to be improved upon. Everything seems disorganized and unprepared. The most enjoyable part of my job would have – more... to be my co-works. Forming everlasting bonds with most of them has been a wonderful experience. – less
