Open store, set up for the day, get samples ready to walk around store to invite them in and up sale.
i learned alot about the types of glasses and contacts.
Management was fair.
I was there part time, so i was only working at nights. The day were there was more then one persone working was before the end of the year, when insurance would renew or people – more... would loose what they had "owed" to them by their companys insurance plan.
Hardest part would be that i was accepted for what I learned and knew, and having the trust by the manager that I can do and knew the job. I dont screw around at work. I am a hard worker, team player, and if there isnt anything to do; I will find something. I am also flexable that if another store needs help. Give me the directions and I will help out. Even if its my only day off or a holiday. When I enjoy what I do, I dont care how much I make, as long as I'm happy and others are happy that I can help them. Thats what matters to me and to the customer. I Treat the customer how I would like to be treated. That's why that was the most enjoyable part of the job. i helped a guy's moms glasses, and since that time, we have been friends. I go out of my way, and I enjoy that, so do they – less

The pay is good but the job is very stressful, and not much room for upward monement past managing a single location.

Pros: target discount
Cons: no breaks
Target Optical was just starting as a company and was not advertising at all. I learned to promote Target optical by approaching local business's and offering discounts to their employee's. I worked closely with the Doctor's together both of us building a positive reputation for professionalism and customer service. I managed both the Doctor's and the – more... store employee's schedule. I tracked all sales and reconciliation reports. Another job where multi tasking was very important, answer phone and helping guests in the store while working alone. The most difficult was very few payroll hours allowed to keep the store staffed. I enjoyed the challenge of helping the store become profitable and received awards for customer service and meeting sales goals. I also enjoyed going above and beyond assisting the Dr. with his insurance. Verifying coverage and billing. – less
