High-tech Technip USA, an American subsidiary of French engineering and construction giant Technip, provides engineering and construction services for oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities around the world from offices in the US and Mexico. Its operations are structured around three primary divisions: Onshore, which includes gas treatment and liquefaction, oil refining, onshore pipelines, and petrochemicals; Offshore, which consists of water field development, deepwater products, and fixed and floating platform construction; and Subsea, which focuses on pipe and cable laying and underwater engineering and construction. Technip USA's fleet includes construction vessels and an ultra-deepwater pipelay vessel.
Kinetic Technology International (KTI) is also part of Technip USA. The Houston-based company specializes in fire heater and furnace technology. Another subsidiary, Duco, designs and manufactures steel and thermoplastic subsea umbilical cables.
Technip USA mostly works on projects in the Gulf of Mexico and along the Gulf Coast. However, the company is active throughout the world. The Americas account for more than 20% of parent Technip's sales.
Among its most recent projects, Technip USA, along with Zachry Construction and Saipem, built a new $1 billion liquid natural gas terminal in Freeport, Texas. The project is a result of rising natural gas usage in the state. The company also is working on the $2.4 billion expansion of Valero's Port Arthur, Texas, refinery.
